Argenta Concert Series: The Poet's Love with baritone Randall Scarlata
The sixth of nine performances of the Argenta Concert Series welcomes to Reno the incredible talent of baritone Randall Scarlata. In a true spirit of a Liederabend, the evening will feature lyrical masterpieces by Schubert and Schumann, among other chamber works. The piece-de-resistance will be the best-known song cycle of Robert Schumann “Dichterliebe” (The Poet’s Love), among the pinnacles of vocal literature since its composition in 1840. Scarlata is a frequent soloist with some of the greatest orchestras around the world, frequent guest at leading festivals, and a winner of multiple awards, including first prize at Das Schubert Lied International Competition in Vienna. He will offer a free public master class during his residency in Reno.
