Inside the Mind of da Vinci
The University of Nevada, Reno will host the display of an iconic sculpture of Leonardo da Vinci on campus through May 1, 2017.
Northern Nevada artist Mischell Riley worked with students from across Engineering and the Arts at the University to realize the 10' x 23' sculpture, Inside the Mind of da Vinci, which premiered at the most recent Burning Man event.
Leonardo da Vinci was a polymath whose interests went beyond the disciplines of art, science, engineering, mathematics, literature, and geology - an icon apropos the University and the Knowledge Center in particular as it embraces intellectual inquiry and innovation, and fosters excellence in learning, teaching, and research. Display of the sculpture will inspire students and faculty alike, while publicly demonstrating collaboration and outreach to the greater community.
Additionally, the display will serve as backdrop to one or more Burning Inquiry lectures to be hosted by University Libraries in the Knowledge Center over the coming months.
