Molecular Biosciences Seminar-Kim Orth

Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Center for Molecular Medicine, TBA 39.55010162548407, -119.815993309021

Dr. Kim Orth, Professor, UT Southwestern, Departments of Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Dallas Texas.

Dr. Orth’s work focuses on the elucidation the activity of virulence factors from pathogenic bacteria so that we can gain novel molecular insight into eukaryotic signaling systems. They are working on T3SS systems and bacterial effectors to understand how signaling systems in the eukaryotic host can be manipulated by bacterial pathogens.

These studies provide novel insight into the molecular workings of eukaryotic signal transduction.
