Responsible Research 2016: Enhancing Trust in Science
Over the past 40 years, scientific research has made enormous contributions to our understanding of life and the world around us. The impact of new knowledge has been matched by seismic changes in how research is conducted and reported. Drivers of change include powerful research and information technologies, the growth of team-based science, new regulatory policies, and an emphasis on researcher accountability and openness. This lecture will explore the evolution of the scientific enterprise and stimulate thinking about its implications for research and research training in the academy.
