Wild West Shootout for Early Childhood Autism Program
The 11th Annual Wild West Shootout, presented by Grand Sierra Resort, is set for Dec. 3-6 at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School. The Wild West Shootout brings together top high school basketball teams from northern Nevada and throughout the west.
This year’s teams include:
Bishop Manogue Catholic High School, Reno, Nev.
Bishop Gorman Catholic High School, Las Vegas, Nev.
Capital Christian School, Sacramento, Calif.
Douglas High School, Minden, Nev.
Jesuit High School, Sacramento, Calif.
Mountain View High School, Mesa, Ariz.
Reno High School, Reno, Nev.
Reed High School, Sparks, Nev.
Funds raised through the Wild West Shootout basketball tournament go toward helping families with an autistic child attending the University of Nevada, Reno Early Childhood Autism Program, which specializes in early intensive treatment for young children with autism. The program offers a comprehensive, individualized treatment program that emphasizes the child’s development in the areas of language, communication, socialization and personal behavior. With its connection to the University, the program is also a training site for University students involved in the science and practice of treating these children.
