Artist Lecture Series 3 (Deirdre Murphy)

The MFA Program in the Art Department is presenting an Artist Lecture Series. We are inviting six artists throughout the Spring 2021 Semester. This is the 3rd one of the series. For the list of all the six talks, visit here (Artist Lecture Series).


Deirdre Murphy

Philadelphia based artist, Murphy decodes the interconnected patterns that exist in art and science through the lens of biological patterns and data visualization. Her research has led to artist residencies at Integral Molecular Biotech and Winterthur Museum. Her paintings, prints and public art have been exhibited at the Philadelphia International Airport, Palm Springs Museum of Art, Zillman Art Museum, Biggs Museum of American Art, New Bedford Art Museum, and Tacoma Art Museum. Grants include: Percent for the Arts, Pennsylvania Council for the Arts, and Leeway Foundation. Murphy is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Lehigh University and her work is represented by Gross McCleaf Gallery (Philadelphia), Boxheart Gallery, (Pittsburgh) and Zinc Contemporary Gallery (Seattle).
