About this event
ASAM 4th Edition
The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria 4th Edition (Adult) is the most widely used and comprehensive set of guidelines for assessment, placement, treatment planning, transition and continued service criteria for clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. Treatment providers and program evaluators use patient placement criteria to ensure that clients receive the appropriate level of care based on person-centered needs. This 1-hour virtual training session is a follow-up to the recent 3-hour Virtual Training in March of 2026. This breakout session will focus on understanding and implementing the updated ASAM 4th Edition related to Admission Criteria and Risk Rating in Practice. Several ASAM tools will be utilized to better understand and implement updated criteria. A case study will be utilized to demonstrate how to utilize the Criteria in practice.
