Northern Nevada Day of Percussion Concert
Featuring Jenny Klukken, Eric Sammut, the University of Nevada, Reno School of Music Percussion Ensemble, and UNR Jazz Lab 1
 

The Northern Nevada Day of Percussion Concert features internationally acclaimed percussionists Jenny Klukken and Eric Sammut, who will serve as Artists in Residence at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Music from March 2–6, 2026.

Throughout the week, Klukken and Sammut will work closely with UNR music students, teaching classes and presenting lectures on topics such as music entrepreneurship and career pathways, the composition process, improvisation, and more. The residency will also include open rehearsals and masterclasses, offering valuable insight into professional artistry and performance preparation.

The Friday, March 6 concert serves as the culminating event of this highly anticipated Artist in Residence Week, showcasing the guest artists alongside the UNR Percussion Ensemble and UNR Jazz Lab 1 in an exciting celebration of percussion performance.

 

$12 general admission. $5 for non-University of Nevada, Reno college students. Free for K-12 students, K-12 educators, and University of Nevada, Reno Students/Faculty/Staff*.

*To be able to attend with a discounted price, students and educators must show a valid school/university ID upon entering the event venue.

 

Parking is free on arts-events evenings (after 7 p.m.) in the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex, which is north of the Church Fine Arts Building and south of Lawlor Events Center.

An ADA accessible drop-off zone is located at the Virginia Street entrance to the Church Fine Arts building.
