Overview
In the US, firearms have become the leading cause of death among children. This course is designed to provide clinicians with comprehensive, evidence-based education covering firearm safety, methods to mitigate firearm-related injuries, and strategies for curtailing access to lethal means. The event will showcase four outstanding presenters from diverse Statewide Agencies over a two-hour virtual course. Through this session, you'll gain valuable insights into your role as an advocate for childhood safety, emphasizing responsible firearm ownership through secure storage practices. This also includes preventing youth suicide while ensuring that, as clinicians, we provide equitable trauma-informed care.
Learning Objectives
Following the completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

Analyze critical data related to child firearm deaths in the United States, including instances of youth suicides.
