The University Libraries are excited to announce ExplOER Nevada: A Symposium on Open and Affordable Learning! Register now for this free half-day virtual event, which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 7. It is aimed at bringing higher education faculty in Nevada together to discuss and learn about using open educational resources (OER). The symposium is planned in collaboratio with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Truckee Meadows Community College, and the College of Southern Nevada The agenda includes:

  • 9 a.m. - An opening keynote from Dr. Jeffrey Alexander, Vice Provost of Academic Affairs at Truckee Meadows Community College, and Stefanie Buck, Director of OERU at Oregon State University
  • 10 a.m. - Lightning round presentations from faculty across the state on how they've incorporated OER
  • 11 a.m.- A Q&A panel of faculty OER experts giving you a chance to ask about issues you've had in experimenting with OER (concurrent session)
  • 11 a.m. - OER 101 Workshop, which will provide an overview on OER for those new to them (concurrent session)
