About this event
Join us for our final Fall 2025 Visiting Artists+Scholars Lecture Series in the Department of Art, Art History & Design with Robert Beatty.
Robert Beatty is an artist and musician based in Lexington, Kentucky, USA. The work of contemporary illustrator and musician Robert Beatty takes visual cues from a legacy of progressive 12 inch art, neon meta-scapes, oblique life-forms and the sui generis of the airbrush. His technically masterful and abstract images have an uncanny upshot of making the music they illustrate sound even better just by looking good. Beatty emerged from the mid-’00s American underground music scene where he designed concert fliers, record covers and released experimental albums as a member of bands Hair Police and Three Legged Race. His work in album covers have included such musicians as Thee Oh Sees, Oneohtrix Point Never, Tame Impala, Flaming Lips, Real Estate, US Girls, and many others.
