Free Virtual Master Food Preserver Course

The University of Nevada Reno Extension’s Food Preservation Program is holding FREE Master Food Preserver online courses.

Cost: FREE

This course is scheduled to run from January 11, 2022 through February 8, 2022. Registered participants will meet on the Zoom platform twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday, for five weeks from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Upon registration on Eventbrite, all participants will be emailed the Zoom registration access by Extension instructors.

We recommend accessing the course via desktop/laptop or tablet. Course Schedule:

  • 1/11/22 - Food Safety and Microorganisms
  • 1/13/22 - Food Preserving Basics
  • 1/18/22 - Jams, Jellies, and Spreads
  • 1/20/22 - Canning Fruits and Fillings (High Acid Foods)
  • 1/25/22 - Pressure Canning Meats, Vegetables, and Soups (Low Acid Foods)
  • 1/27/22 - Canning Tomatoes and Tomato Mixtures
  • 2/1/22 - Pickles and Pickled Products
  • 2/3/22 – Dehydrating
  • 2/8/22 – Freezing

Dial-In Information

After completing the course registration, enrolled participants will receive an email from Extension instructors offering the course with a secondary registration for class Zoom access. After completing the Zoom registration participants will have access to the entire course at its designated schedule.
