Canceled - Gwaylon Leaf MFA Thesis Exhibition: Uprooted

"Uprooted" is Gwaylon Leaf's solo thesis exhibition in fulfillment of the requirements for the Master of Fine Arts in visual arts at the University of Nevada, Reno. The exhibition comprises of paintings as a visual representation of Leaf’s cultural environment. He re-claims symbols from his Chinese heritage and combines them with color and design from the Bauhaus to create a novel representation of American-Chinese identity. The gallery is open to the public, and open hours are noon-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday. On Thursday, April 16, Leaf will give an artist talk from 5-6 p.m. (location TBD), with a reception in Student Galleries South afterwards from 6-8 p.m.  

Student Galleries South is located within the Jot Travis building. General parking is available in the Brian Whalen Parking garage, located just north of Jot Travis. The main entrance to the Brian Whalen Parking garage is located on the east side of North Virginia Street, between 14th Street and 15th Street.
