About this Event
The Moon has been a source of wonder for all of human history. “Imagine the Moon,” this month’s planetarium show (from the Alder in Chicago), explores how the Moon has inspired human creativity, learning, and exploration ever since we looked to the sky.
First Friday we’ll have a live performance of Moon songs along with our dome show. And Second Saturday we’ll participate in the International “Observe the Moon” night with live telescope viewing of the Moon — and a chance to make our own Moon Maps.
Then join us for a special live presentation in our dome about how humans have seen and represented the Moon throughout time, from the world’s oldest Moon maps (which predate Stonehenge!) to pictures and autographed paintings of the Moon by people who have actually walked on its surface. Follow in their footsteps this “moon-th” as we “Imagine the Moon!”
