Little Books & Little Cooks is a six-week program designed for families with children 3- to 5-years-old. The program promotes healthy eating, family literacy and positive parent-child interaction. In each hour-long workshop, the program features a children’s book and recipes, and families participate in a cooking activity together.

Families learn about:

  • Food safety
  • MyPlate and the 5 food groups
  • The benefits of cooking with children
  • Helpful tips for picky eaters
  • The importance of fruits and vegetables  
  • The Hungry Meter
  • Foods from other cultures
