The Nevada Aphasia Camp brings together UNR students, people who have aphasia, their partners, volunteers and university faculty for a weekend retreat with a focus on intergenerational community building, communication, and outdoor activities. The intent of camp is to offer people living with aphasia a weekend in nature where each camper can increase confidence, participate in team building activities and expand their communication skills. UNR graduate students in speech language pathology learn leadership skills while participating in the lived experience of aphasia.
