Performing Arts Series: California Guitar Trio + Montreal Guitar Trio
As six virtuoso guitarists representing four countries (Japan, Canada, Belgium and the U.S.), the California Guitar Trio and Montreal Guitar Trio fuse more than 40 years of combined performing experience into one unique six-by-six string "phenomensemble." In a pleasantly surprising way, CGT's steel-stringed guitars blend naturally with MG3's nylon-stringed guitars, as each trio's fretboards chase the others' original compositions and new arrangements of progressive rock, world, jazz and classical music.
Tickets: $35 (older than 17 and younger than 62); $29 for seniors, University faculty and staff; $15 for youth/student (ages 3-17, non-University student), $5 for University students with valid ID (must be purchased in person at Lawlor Events Center).
Patron drop-off area: There is a bus stop driveway at the Virginia Street entrance to the Church Fine Arts building making it easy to drop off passengers before parking. Parking is free on arts-events evenings (after 7 p.m.) in the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex, which is north of the Church Fine Arts building and south of Lawlor Events Center.
