Privacy and Confidentiality in Opioid Treatment

About this Event
This training will provide a comprehensive review of privacy and confidentiality laws relevant to opioid treatment providers. The session will cover federal and Nevada regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, with a focus on practical applications and compliance challenges. The presentation will also explore emerging issues related to artificial intelligence and telehealth in opioid treatment settings. Participants will gain a clear understanding of confidentiality requirements, reporting obligations, and best practices for protecting patient privacy.
Presented by: Mark Disselkoen, MSSW, LCSW, LCADC
Mark Disselkoen, is Senior Project Manager at the Center for the Application of Substance Abuse Technologies (CASAT) at the University of Nevada, Reno since 2003. He is an LCSW and LCADC and has worked in the field of substance use and mental health treatment for over 30 years. He oversees the CCBHC project and certification and training/technical assistance contracts in Nevada and provides numerous trainings in the field of substance use and mental health treatment.
