Prereq: 

  • A MacOS, Linux, or Windows laptop; note surface or tablets will not be sufficient

  • Download R and RStudio onto your laptop

R is a powerful, open-source programming language and software environment widely used for statistical computing, data analysis, and visualization. It has become a popular choice among researchers, data analysts, and scientists due to its extensive libraries and strong capabilities in handling and visualizing data. In this R crash course, we will introduce the basics of R programming and guide you through using R for data handling, exploration, and manipulation.

  • Understand the basic components of the RStudio interface

  • Write and troubleshoot basic R code

  • Read, write, and explore datasets 

  • Work with common packages for data manipulation
