Sewing Our Heritage Series: MMIW Quilt, Honoring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women
In this first class of a three-part series, November 15th, 19th, and 26th, participants will learn about the history of Star Quilts in Indigenous communities. The group project will be to create a Quilt that provides prayers for missing and murdered women and their journey to the spirit world. Participants are encouraged to bring in photos or information about family members to honor with this project. Instruction will be given by Mary Burnette, Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.
