About this event

Join us for an engaging and informative day learning about the most prevalent type of scams that target older adults. The day includes a diverse panel of elder fraud survivors and AARP Victims Advocate, Kate Kleinert. We will hear about Nevada's advocacy work around elder fraud and how our state prosecutes these fraudulent criminals. Extension faculty will provide a deep dive into romance scams and engage the audience in an interactive fishbowl activity. The day will conclude with information from the Nevada Attorney General's Office. Community resources include, but are not limited to, Aging & Disability Services Division, Federal Bureau of Investigations, credit unions, local police offices, public guardian's office and more!
Continuing education will be requested from the Boards of long-term care administrators, marriage and family therapists and social workers. Continuing professional education for certified health education specialists, nurses and the International Association of Financial Criminal Investigators will also be available.
