Staff Employees' Council Annual Open House
About this event
The Staff Employees’ Council Open House brings local vendors, University departments and community organizations to campus to connect with University staff. This annual event is a chance for vendors to show their appreciation for the employees who use their goods and services. Direct sales are not permitted during the event.
Many participating vendors contribute raffle prizes*, offer product samples or share information about their services. All classified staff are encouraged to attend, and the event typically runs for about four hours.
Administrative leave: The University President has granted all classified employees one hour of paid administrative leave to attend.
What to expect: Network with colleagues and explore vendor tables, giveaways, samples, raffles and more.
Admission: Free and open to everyone (not limited to classified employees).
Vendor fee: Free participation. Interested vendors can email SEC@unr.edu.
Raffle: Each classified employee receives one free raffle ticket upon entry. Bring canned or nonperishable food donations for Pack Provisions to earn an additional ticket. Extra tickets are available for purchase — $1 each or 6 for $5 (cash or Venmo accepted).
*Monetary awards, including gift cards, are considered supplemental wages and treated as taxable compensation for employees.
