DESCRIPTION:Interdisciplinary artist Miya Hannan will give an artist lectur
 e at Holman Arts & Media Center (University of Nevada\, Reno at Lake Tahoe
 ) on Tuesday\, August 11th at 7pm. This event is free and open to the publ
 ic!\n\nMiya Hannan is an interdisciplinary studio artist working in instal
 lation\, drawing and sculpture. She has exhibited her work in numerous sol
 o and group exhibitions nationally and internationally. She explores trace
 s of memory and history embedded in the natural world that continue to lin
 ger. She is a recipient of the Franklin Research Grant (2025) and the Neva
 da Arts Council Artist Fellowship (2023). Her artist’s book\, a collabor
 ative project with Brighton Press in San Diego in 2017\, is held in the co
 llections of over 30 institutions\, including the Getty Research Institute
 \, the Library of Congress\, and Stanford University. Before coming to the
  United States\, she worked for seven years as a medical professional in h
 er native country\, Japan. She is currently an Associate Professor at the 
 University of Nevada\, Reno.
