Summer Sibshop 2022
At this Sibshop, sibs will enjoy a tour of the new Northern Nevada Sierra Medical Center hospital- complete with viewing some cool projects during a tour of the medical lab!
Note: Due to the time frame, there will not be lunch provided at this Sibshop. Thank you for your understanding.
Sibshops are recreation-based, peer-centered support groups for children, aged 8-13, who have a brother or sister with complex health needs, mental health concerns, and/or developmental disabilities. They allow siblings an event just for them, to connect with other children who share their experience, as well as enjoy a respite from the day-to-day of their sibling's more focused care.
While Sibshops are intended for typically-developed siblings, we are aware that siblings of kids with special health care needs often have disabilities of their own, while also sharing a similar experience to that of their typically-developed Sib peers in the face of their sibling's more intensive needs.
