Supporting Reading and Engagement with Perusall (Teaching Workshop)
By Writing and Speaking Initiative, Writing and Speaking in the Disciplines
About this event
Getting students to read, and to engage with those readings, is a significant challenge for all instructors. In this two-part workshop, Dr. Brittany Avila (Psychology) and Dr. Sean O'Neil (Core Humanities) will share how they support students' reading and engagement with Perusall, a social annotation platform that allows students to read and comment on course materials together. During the first Zoom meeting on October 8, Avila and O’Neil will present concrete techniques and Perusall assignments that they use in their own courses.
During this, the second, in-person meeting on October 10, participants will develop Perusall assignments for their own courses and receive feedback on them.
Register here (spaces limited) for the in-person workshop on October 10.
If you want to attend the Zoom introductory workshop on October 8, 12-1, register here.
Feel free to register to attend one or both of these sessions.
