Canceled - Teal Francis MFA Thesis Artist Talk and Reception
This event has been canceled until further notice.
In fulfillment of the requirements for the Master of Fine Arts in visual arts at the University of Nevada, Reno, Teal Francis will give an artist talk from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 at the Black Rock Press. The talk will cover the conceptualization of her work, relevant art historical and contemporary artists and other influences, and the evolution of her practice over the course of the program. There will be a gallery reception following the talk from 6-8 p.m. in Student Galleries South.
Both events are open to the public and held in conjunction with her thesis exhibition “Yellow Spotted Tail,” open noon-4 p.m. Monday-Saturday from March 30-April 9 in Student Galleries South. “Yellow Spotted Tail” is an installation of prints and sculptures of personified animals and ambiguous shape forms; the work questions our expectations and basic ways of operating in the world through play.
The Black Rock Press and Student Galleries South are both located within the Jot Travis building. General parking is available in the Brian Whalen Parking garage, located just north of Jot Travis. The main entrance to the Brian Whalen Parking garage is located on the east side of North Virginia Street, between 14th Street and 15th Street. Public metered parking is available at the lowest level of the Whalen parking complex. Disabled parking is available on all floors.
