The Science of Team Science: How to foster productive interdisciplinary collaboration in Team Science
About this event
Funders of research are seeking dynamic solutions to some of our most intractable problems, solutions that cannot be achieved by one researcher alone. This realization has led to a surge in interest and investment in cross-disciplinary collaboration to address these pressing challenges --- also known as team science.
Though team science can create breakthroughs that would not otherwise be possible, working with others, especially across disciplines, can sometimes introduce challenges that slow or prevent projects from achieving their goals. Industry and the business world have generated an extensive body of research on practices and behaviors that enhance a team’s performance and lead to success. But much of this research has not yet transferred into the scientific realm.
Research & Proposal Development Services is hosting a webinar with Dr. Katie Plaisance, Associate Professor of Knowledge Integration at the University of Waterloo, and a leader within the International Network for the Science of Team Science (INSciTS), to introduce our research community to The Science of Team Science: How to foster productive interdisciplinary collaboration in Team Science.
Dr. Plaisance will discuss common barriers and strategies for success, provide tools for teams, and answer questions from attendees. This webinar is free and open to the entire research community; Zoom registration is required.
