About this event

Trauma-informed practices are increasingly being prioritized within criminal justice entities and in affiliated social systems and institutions. For example, scholars at University of Nevada, Reno recently received funding from the State of Nevada to implement a trauma-informed training to law enforcement and legal professionals to better support survivors of intimate violence.  This panel seeks to bring professionals across disciplines – including law enforcement, court advocates, social work, community outreach and crisis support – to discuss the relevance and impact of trauma-informed approaches to support people who survive violence and overcome the adversity they face. Practitioners will come together to discuss relevant challenges and concerns and answer audience questions. Please join us for this Department of Criminal Justice event where we engage trauma-informed responses to preventing and reducing intimate violence.
