For many students in medicine, family is both a source of deep strength and an invisible weight we carry. This session presented by the Asian Pacific Islander Medical Student Association (APAMSA) will explore how generational trauma, caregiving expectations, familial pressures, and the sacrifices of immigrant families uniquely shape the Asian Pacific Islander (API) experience in medical training. Together, we’ll hold space to reflect, share, and honor the complex ways family shapes our journeys during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Diversity Dialogues provides a space where everyone can communicate, be heard, and engage with our complex problems. Diversity Dialogues is an open discussion of diversity and inclusion issues and the diversity initiatives at UNR Med.

This session sponsored by the APAMSA.
