Vote Your Voice

In a safe space for all, this class will explore the importance of voting and discuss the disparities and inequities that impact voting.

This four-week class will look at voting in America, from history to present day, on a local and national level and its role in our government.

Each class will include a forty-five minute lesson, with forty-five minutes allotted to dialogue about the pre-class assignments, thoughts on the lesson, and share feelings on today's current political climate.

Requirements:

  • An interest in politics
  • An understanding of the voting process
  • Access to Netflix

This workshop is open to youth and young adults ages 17 to 21. Registration is required. Spaces are limited so sign up ASAP.

This class will be facilitated in a "hybrid" learning format. Ten students will be able to attend class in person, while the other students will be able to attend virtually via Zoom.

Classes are 90 minutes per session and will be held on the following dates and times:

  • Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
