Women's Entrepreneurship Initiative Speaker Series: Kathryn Lukas

The Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship continues its speaker series focused on Growth in the Age of Unicorns and Zebras, with a dynamic conversation with Farmhouse Culture founder, Kathryn Lukas. 

A California native, Kathryn’s love affair with food started in her grandparents’ farmhouse. There she watched mesmerized as her grandmother transformed home-grown ingredients into simple, delicious meals. Years later, she fell in love with fresh fermented sauerkraut given to her by the farmer who provided food for her restaurant in Stuttgart, Germany. When Kathryn returned to the States and learned how to ferment at a Natural Culinary Program, she knew she had found her calling.

Kathryn founded Farmhouse Culture in 2008, growing the business through Series C venture capital into a category leader in probiotic-rich foods and beverages. Fueled by growing consumer demand for gut-healthy foods, the company has expanded its product offerings beyond the Krauts it was founded on to include four varieties of fermented vegetables, Gut Shots™ probiotic drink line, and Kraut Krisps™, a line of kraut-based snacks. Farmhouse Culture products are available in select natural and specialty retailers across the country.
