DESCRIPTION:People who inject and use drugs (PWID/PWUD) are at increased ri
 sk for skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI’s) and chronic wounds. This
  training will provide an overview of the different types of wounds and in
 fections encountered with PWUD as well as low barrier treatment options.\n
 \nLearning Objectives\nBy the end of this training\, participants will be 
 able to:\n\nIdentify the types of wounds and infections encountered in PWU
 D.Understand basic wound assessment and treatment options.Develop a harm r
 eduction approach to wound care in PWUD. Reduce wound stigma in individual

 e University of Illinois at Chicago Community Outreach Intervention Projec
 ts where he focuses on integrating substance use disorder treatment and pr
 imary care in settings such as syringe exchanges\, mobile\, and street hea
 lth programs. His clinical interests include piloting evidenced based inte
 rventions to address problems specific to populations with substance use d
 isorders including wound care\, ultrasound-guided phlebotomy\, and low bar
 rier access to medications for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder.\n\nCo
