Writing a Research Proposal to the NSF CAREER and Beyond: An Exercise in Planning, Marketing and Reviewer Psychology

After starting the NSF Nanomanufacturing Program and serving three rotations as its Program Director, Haris plans to share his experiences and views of what makes a winning research proposal. Having been a NSF Young Investigator (the equivalent of CAREER back in the mid-90’s) and a Presidential Faculty Fellow (the equivalent of PECASE) himself, and having funded over a dozen of CAREER awards among hundreds of grants in over a thousand proposals he handled, he will focus on the CAREER program – but also present step-by-step advice into general research proposal writing for all of us. So come get an insider’s hints on what you always wanted to know, but were afraid to ask…
