Orvis School of Nursing
Named for Arthur E. Orvis and his wife, Mae Zenke Orvis, whose gifts helped establish Nevada's first university-level school of nursing in 1956, Orvis School of Nursing is a hub for nursing education. For the school’s first 10 years, nursing classes were held wherever space could be found. The only nursing school in the state, Orvis was built in 1966.
